Newsletter | Feature Story | Client Success Story | | President's Message | Philanthropic Jazz | Bulletin Board Notes from the Field Service as the Path to Abundance: A Conversation with Patrick Ryan By Tarra Christoff, MA, Coaches Care Conversation Facilitator As Conversation Facilitator for the Coaches Care monthly interview calls, I have the honor of engaging in dialogue with extraordinary individuals who are dedicated to contributing to the greater good through the coaching profession. As a coach who works with people committed to realizing their vision for social change, I know firsthand how the contributions of others can inspire us to action. So in the spirit of the holiday season, I asked recent interviewee Patrick Ryan, author of Awakened Wisdom: A Guide to Reclaiming Your Brilliance, to share his wisdom on abundance. Patrick is a successful executive coach who holds a unique philosophy about how we can all live in a state of abundance by awakening our brilliance. Abundance, he explains, is about having enough, not more than enough. It is the ability to give and receive in a way that the energy and resources flow easily. Abundance, in Patrick's view, starts with the giving. Unfortunately, many of us, when we want more of the inflow, shut down the outflow. Patrick invites us instead to allow and receive our own prosperity in a way that lets it flow back out into the world. When you allow yourself to grow and contribute, he adds, you are provided for. A tree, for example, draws in energy from the sky and the ground. But it also releases more than it holds onto in the form of oxygen. As coaches, when we support our own gift and make a contribution and are willing to own our value in the world, abundance flows naturally. This holiday season, I invite you to consider these questions:
Patrick's belief that every organization has a responsibility to give back to the planet shows in his organization, Awakening Wisdom Experiences. Using a unique business and coaching model, Patrick's meaningful work with community leaders in Egypt and Asia is bringing the transformational gift of coaching to those who could not otherwise access it. You can learn more about Patrick's 8-Step Model to Living an Awakened Life in a special teleclass, Awaken Your Wisdom, or at his live workshop in the San Francisco Bay Area on January 8-10 (ICF credits are available). We hope to see you next week when we talk with Leadership Coach Dave Ellis, founder of Falling Awake Coaching and the Brande Foundation.
