Dear Friends and Colleagues,
We have all heard the term "networking". Professionals use it frequently to describe the practice of engaging and developing business contacts and associations. Personally, I prefer the term "Relationship Building", and I see it as the opportunity to recognize the intrinsic value of your daily contacts and to help them meet people who can complement their ideals - even if there is no direct or immediate benefit to you. It is the core value of the strongest and most successful business models.
This month we bring you a pair of ideas on the topic of how to adopt networking as part of your business lifestyle. In our Client Success Interview, Gail Sussman Miller talks about perception and how we can use the word "connecting" rather than networking in order to help understand how fundamental the practice is. In our Feature Article, Rochelle Toga-Figa shares some ideas on the tools you can utilize in building a strong referral group.
Networking, connecting, relationship building – whatever term you prefer to use – is a force that brings us together. It helps us to realize that we are part of a greater whole and that there is more than enough success for each of us. I hope that this month’s newsletter might be able to offer you some insight as to how to use this powerful connectivity to bring your company to the next level - and to bring the people you know along for the ride.
To your success,
James Komosinski
